You people are morons! Let Mother Nature take its course? You seem to forget that “Nature” and “Mother Nature” both include the supreme predator of this planet – humankind!! Humankind is the alpha predator on earth. You call wolves gentle and amazing creatures? If you were alone in the woods, and crossed paths with a pack of hungry wolves, they would tear you to shreds if you didn’t have the means to defend yourself. Then you could tell me how gentle and amazing they are. It’s no more immoral for a human to kill a wolf, than it is for a wolf to begin ripping out the guts of it’s prey, and begin eating them while the animal is still alive and bellowing in pain. These are not soft, furry, cuddly creatures. They are wild animals, and as such are vicious predators. They were eradicated by the alpha predator once before. They were then restored. By whom? The alpha predator. Now, deer numbers are dropping dramatically due to wolf predation. When their numbers are further reduced, the wolves will out of necessity move onto livestock. (In many areas, they already are) This will increase their interaction with humans, which will reduce their natural fear of their only predator. Inevitably wolf – human encounters will result in injury and/or death. Once again the alpha predator will select the wolf for killing. THAT is what Mother Nature is all about. The circle of life ends with humankind as the alpha predator. We forget that humans are animals too. I find it amazing that all you self-proclaimed wolf lovers never seem to express the same outrage over the killing of another human, as you do over the killing a wolf. Amazing…..

you people sicken me. even the ones that support the reintroduction of wolves. this never would have happen if europeans had never interfeared. native americans worked with and in some cases worshiped the wolf. but then europeans came and immediatly saw wolves as savage killers just as they did to the natives. if not for europeans ignorance or just plain human ignorance and the desire to be dominant the world would still be in balance and the populations and environments wouldn’t be screwed up like they are. i live and stay close to mother nature i even have some wolves that live in the woods near my house though they arnt trusting to humans and typically stay hidden. but my point is that we as humans should not interfere any longer we should just let mother nature run its course and fix things herself.

Wolves are not “majestic” or “amazing” creatures. They are animals, that are hungry. They already ate most of the deer, so they are turning towards people’s cattle and personal pets! No one is suggesting that we kill all the wolves. They are suggesting we reduce the population so we don’t have to worry about that sort of thing. They also don’t have any natural predators, so as humans with working brains, it’s our responsibility to control their population before there are thousands of them

Our forefathers rid the land of them for good reason. They qanted Wisconsin to be safe, and have good deer hunting. Eventually enough children, and pets will be killed, or hurt seriously , and there will be strong outcry. Many involved in Witchcraft revere the wolf, as do native Americans. The wolves should never of been brought back. There will be more and more illegal shootings as this is being slowly dragged out. Common sense is diminishing.

Who is suggesting we kill off all the wolves? You are assuming, as do too many uninformed or rather misinformed people that hunting is a sport of willy-nilly random killing.

Hunting seasons and bag limits are all scientifically based and used as a management tool to provide healthy species and habitat.

The vast majority of the “striving” you so long for to protect the wildlife has been going on for decades via programs run by and/or funded by hunters, fishermen, etc. and their license fees.

Don’t be so quick to bury the hatchet into the backs of hunters by believing the false rhetoric spewed by the animal rights and anti-hunting groups. We are not evil.

Why bring back an animal that has thrived in our country for centuries only to create a hunting season that would diminsh them once again? We should be striving to protect the majestic wildlife of our country not kill it all off…..
